Around Southwestern University you will find many of the large older homes built in the Georgian Colonial style or neo-classic. In the western suburbs of Georgetown, you are more likely to find Neo-Mediterranean, Contemporary, Craftsman, and Prairie Homes. Style names can be misleading. A Craftsman home and a Prairie home are both noted for their spacious, open floor plans.

Interior decorators are different than interior designers. Interior decorators decide on the aesthetics of your new house. You, architects, designers and decorators all work together to create your new house.
